Why law enforcement?
When Tony Phan was six years old, his family escaped communist Vietnam and landed on a small island in Malaysia before moving to the United States. His father had wanted to become a police officer upon arriving in the U.S. but was unable to. So, Tony lived out his father’s dream for him and became a police officer 17 years ago. He now is a patrol officer on the day shift, as well as a firearms instructor in the department.
Tony Phan is a skilled sharpshooter who is currently sponsored by Rudy Project and was previously sponsored by Smith and Wesson. One of his proudest moments was at a national competition. Tony ranked in the top 16 amongst professional sharpshooters from around the country.
The Mother's Against Drunk Driving Southeast Texas Affiliate has also recognized the officer for making an impressive number of drunk driving arrests in the Houston area. He works hard to keep the Webster streets safe.
Hobbies outside of work?
Tony spends his spare time training for sharpshooter competitions. He typically competes in around five championships each year. So when he is not on duty, he spends three to four hours a day training at the range.
Tony is known around the police department for having a sweet tooth. His favorite ice cream flavor is The Great Divide from Blue Bell!
Thank you for your service in Webster, Officer Tony Phan! #WebsterPD #LocalHeroLowdown #WebsterTx
