NASA Parkway Phase II Rezone

The City of Webster is proposing to change the Zoning Classification of the properties identified as Phase II of the NASA Parkway Revitalization Plan to the NASA Parkway District. This Rezoning is consistent with the recommendations of the NASA Parkway Revitalization Plan.

Intent of the District: The NASA Parkway District, as described by the Zoning Ordinance, is intended for urban-scale, pedestrian-friendly, largely commercial development consistent with the goals and objectives of the NASA Parkway Revitalization Plan, adopted in 2009. It is hereby recognized that increased regulation of building design, in conjunction with less regulation of minimum parking and maximum build-able area, will be required to meet these goals and objectives. In no case shall development of the district be contrary to the above intent of walk-able, urban development and/or redevelopment of the NASA Parkway corridor.

Permitted Uses: The NASA Parkway District has a variety of uses permitted within the District, including a variety of commercial, services, professional offices and certain residential uses with a Special Use Permit.  Schedule of Uses.

Non-Conforming Uses: While this change in zoning will not affect the operations of existing businesses, it will require additional standards for future development and redevelopment of property, as recommended by the NASA Parkway Revitalization Plan.

Informational Meeting: In order to facilitate this process of the rezoning of Phase II, the City is holding a community meeting at the City of Webster’s Civic Center. Information tables and the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the Rezoning of NASA Parkway Phase II will be available to the public.
